I have wanted to do a story on this for a while now. I am completely inspired by this collective. There is just so much information and inspiration I didn't know where to start.

Well pictures are always great... but
not enough to explain this time because in this case what they are doing is NOT ONLY BEAUTIFUL it is really a lesson in sustainability.
The artistic look of their projects are made all the more inspiring because they use recycled and salvaged materials therefore reducing landfill burden.
They keep costs low by using apprentice labor so they help in training new laborers with marketable skills and provide low cost housing to their community by partnering with Living Paradigm a non-profit housing group. Now how is that for a
mission statement!
They first caught my eye when someone sent me a link to the Budweiser house as a joke.

I love the use of materials look at the beer tap as a water tap. |
When I looked into it I found out that Dan Phillips creates unique impressive homes using almost exclusively recycled building supplies through his company
Phoenix Commotion.
I was really inspired by all the good ideas he has for re-using items, his craftsmanship, his essays on sustainability and materials and most of all new ways to create affordable housing or renovations not to mention the results are beautiful.
So have a look at his projects and get inspired! You can go on the website and get Dan’s instructions for alternative flooring such as;
"Papier-Maché Floors",
"Wine Cork Floors" and
“Tile-Shard Floors” which is very liberating to think you can do it yourself in such an original way.
