Creme Fraiche Cupcakes

The other day my daughter picked me up at the train station in Pointe-Claire after work to get some groceries together. We had both worked all day and we were hungry so when we passed by a sign that said Creme Fraiche Cupcakes we decided to go and have a cupcake together.

As you would expect with a cupcake business the place was adorable right down to the mosaic tiled counter we ate on "hand made" by one of the owners.

Minis
We were delighted.

Mmmmm s'mores

We had a little difficulty choosing which one to try but one of the owners who served us suggested we have the Earl Grey so I went for it and my daughter had White Chocolate and Rasberry because she loves anything with white chocolate. They were both delicious and moist but we both fell in love with the Earl Grey Cupcake it had just the right amount of sweet balanced with a tart lemon icing. So worth making a trip there for a treat with a friend or daughter or just picking some up to share with your family.

They also have vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free cupcakes if you wish and all kinds of fun cupcake paraphernalia.

The service was so warm we were really thirsty so we asked for plain water rather than a tea or any other fancy drink and we were given some nice cold water without a guilt trip or trying to make us pay for a water bottle.

You can find Creme Fraiche Cupcakes right beside the Valois train station at 60A Donegani in Pointe-Claire. You may visit their website here where you'll find the menu of the day and their contact information. Their hours are from 10am to 6pm  Tuesday to Friday and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. You may contact them for customized orders for special or corporate events by phone 514-505-3222, fax 514-505-3223 or email them at cremefraichecupcakes@gmail.com.

The never ending treat tin.

While my daughter was on vacation in Maine she left me her car. It was a low traffic time here in Montreal so I took advantage of that and took the car into work which allowed me to leave a half an hour later and come back a half an hour earlier every day. I offered my friend who takes the bus in the morning at the same time as me to come along. It was a blast! Every morning we stopped to have coffee and delighted about what a nice break it was to sleep in a half an hour later and come back a half an hour earlier every day. At the end of our car trips my friend offered me these absolutely delicious cookies that looked like a macaron and involved white chocolate, lemon and pecans.

They came in the most adorable little heart shaped tin. My friend told me to make sure that my daughter got some cookies because it was thanks to her car that we had all those fun times. So I did even though those cookies were almost impossible to resist. I was glad that I did because when I did my daughter asked: "Do we have to give this tin back?" and I responded "I don't know what the protocol is for that?" and she said well it's so cute I wish we could keep it...and then she got an idea! She said why don't you make her a treat and put it in the tin and it will be the never ending Treat Tin! When I pitched the idea to my friend she thought it was brilliant so here's what I made her that last time she got her tin back. Rolo Cookies!!!

Friday Music on Thursday because I couldn't wait.

The minute I first saw this video I couldn't wait to show it to you because this girl is the real thing! She always has a nice word to say and she is just so full of heart it amazes me. You can find her blog Keep Holding on Sweetie (smiles can hide-a-lot) here! She openly invites people struggling with suicide, cutting and depression to contact her and she means it. They do and she does what she can in terms of pointing them to the right resources or just sending them a kind word and continuing to post messages of hope. She is really impressive for a 16 year old girl.

Every time this video has passed on my dashboard on tumbl'r I reblog it and it passes alot it came out in January and has been passed along all over tumbl'r.. I find it so moving, I find her so brave. Madison puts herself out there to give us all a message of hope.  We love you Madi! Thank you

Monday musings

When effort is needed, effort will appear. When effortlessness becomes essential, it will assert itself. You need not push life about. Just flow with it and give yourself completely to the task of the present moment. *Nisargadatta Maharaj
