My Mother's Hometown: Portneuf sur Mer

Summer is coming!

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is visit my Aunt who still lives in my mother's family home. We go blueberry picking and play by the sea and I learn about gardening from my Aunt who is a master gardener.

She takes my son on rides! This is her greenhouse!

Right now she is here in Montreal and for my birthday she gave me some seeds for broad beans I love! I was so happy! I can't wait to go and visit you ma belle Tante Therese!

Art art I want you...EDGY NURSERY ART

I was so inspired by San Francisco Girl's Post the other day she posted some really cool edgy contemporary Art for a nursery that I had to share because it is just too good. As she put it "...you are never too young to start your love of contemporary art right?" and I say "RIGHT!"

Minakani Walls - Animals

I know these peacocks aren't in a nursery but they could be and you can choose your colors aren't they impressive! J'adore!

Finally last but NOT LEAST...my favorite by Brooklyn based artist Fede Saenz.

Hot pink is the new red there are no words for HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS!

House of Locations: four storey Georgian

I have been struggling to write posts in the past couple of months. It all started when I got a virus on my computer at work. I panicked and was afraid to even open my blog in fear that I would somehow infect it. I got really busy at work and in my garden and somehow when I had time to write I sort of ran out of inspiring things to say.

I decided that it was okay for me to take a break for a while and just reconnect with what first inspired me to start a blog. I have been reading blogs for elevation of the spirit and FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY found something that lifts my spirits enough to blog about it. Maybe now I can get back to being on a roll!

When I started this blog I made a decision to promote what I love and this four storey Georgian house on House of Locations decorated in a mix of shabby chic, Scandinavian and cottage style fits that requirement!

Isn't it so beautiful?

I ♥ Vallila!

Vallila is a Finnish interior design company based in Helsinki that is family owned company with 75 years experience and a focus on fabrics. I was so struck with their fresh ideas when I saw them featured on Dear Designer's Blog that I felt like I did when I was twelve and I went to Ikea for the first time my heart soared.
